Employment Trust
is a Charitable Trust that was established
in 1997 with the aim to provide support and employment
opportunities to people who are at a disadvantage in
the job market.
The
original aim has been fulfilled in many ways and for
many years and it is still our main motivating principle
today. We try and achieve this aim in two ways:
- Through offering meaningful
work in a supportive team environment, in which to
develop strong work skills and work ethics that enable
people to successfully join the general work force.
- Through developing new enterprise
and initiatives that create new jobs and new avenues
for people to gain employment.
We work closely
with Work and Income and Nelson city Council, and t
he work we provide is primarily aimed at positively
contributing to the community. Current projects include:
The Richmond Re-use Shop, Tidy Town, Tree Planting and
the Re-Finery Gallery and Studio Space.
What We Do
We
assist the long-term unemployed to re-enter the workforce
by providing work designed to assist with training,
job skills and development of a work ethic.
The
Aim Of The Trust
To provide
an environment that supports people, who are disadvantaged
in the labour market, to move into quality work.
The objectives
of the Trust are
-
To Provide
a supportive team environment to people who are
disadvantaged in the Labour Market to develop work
skills (through training) and wok ethic (through
meaningful work) to enable them to join the general
work force.
-
To develop
working relations with the regions training providers,
schools, and support groups for people disadvantaged
in the Labour Market.
-
To
develop the scheme into flexible regional initiative
that allows for the movement of resources and people
to any area of need.
